Six Ways to Celebrate New Year's Eve in Sonoma

Concerts, comedy, and more.

Arlene Francis Center for Spirit, Art, and Politics

Want to get out of the city for New Year's Eve? Sonoma County has everything from concerts to comedy cabarets, all accompanied by great local cuisine and wine. Here are some top picks:

Sally Tomatoes 2nd Annual New Year's Eve Extravaganza
7 p.m. | $60 with dinner or $20 just to party
Sally Tomatoes is hosting a 3-course dinner with comedy by Adam Pearlstein, Samantha Gilweit, and Steve Ausburne. After the laughs, break out your dancing shoes and get down to live music from Girls + Boys. Dinner starts early and ends with a champagne fountain and sabering.

Annual New Year's Eve Classical Concert
7 p.m. | $35–$70
The Petaluma Historical Library and Museum hosts a lively annual New Year’s Eve concert. This year, it features the music of Ludwig van Beethoven and Antonin Dvorak. The library will serve wine and cheese, compliments of Russian River Vineyards and the Petaluma Creamery.

New Year's Eve Comedy Cabaret
Shows at 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. | $25–$50
The 6th Street Playhouse welcomes back smash successes Sandy and Richard Riccardi and their New Year's Eve Cabaret. The sophisticated but silly performance details their “cracked and bushwhacked road to marital bliss, social consciousness, and menopause.”

The Lift Your Spirit New Year's Eve Celebration
7 p.m. | $10 | All Ages
This all-ages party at the Arlene Francis Center for Spirit, Art, and Politics is all about keeping it fun and down to earth. Rock out to the music of ODELL, a six-piece band with Dell Parker on lead vocals, dance to DJ Loisaida from UnderGround Un-Limited, and enjoy the tamales.

Romp with Beasts at Safari West
Adults from $70
This is one of the wildest ways to ring in the New Year: Book a cozy, cabin-like tent and party by the bonfire surrounded by giraffes, zebras, and rhinos. The hotel is also rumored to serve one heck of a mimosa.

Countdown Ball at Flamingo Conference Resort and Spa
9:30 p.m. | Package $295 | Party $55
This NYE Party Room Package comes with a place to stay (of course) as well two different options to dance the night away. In the ballroom, cover band Crossfire will play oldies and top-40 hits, while DJ JMAG & DJ Don Dada will spin beats in the lounge.
