The top 3 GDC after-parties

This year’s Game Developers Conference, where techies talk their secret languages of PHP and C++, is in full swing. Although tickets for the conference itself are through the roof (and, let’s be honest, it’s not exactly our scene) we’ve gone through this week’s jam-packed schedule for the best after-parties—ones involving more than gamers playing MW3—and found three that are worth your trip without breaking the bank.

Tuesday, March 6, 2012

TouchArcade party, 7:00 p.m.–“until they kick us out.” Open bar for all game developers and TouchArcade fans willing to trade a business card for the bracelet. If you run, you may still make it. Bin 55 in the lobby of the Marriott Marquis, 55 4th St., S.F.

Wednesday, March 7

InMobi GDC Party: Mobile OS Dance Battle Edition, 6–9 p.m. On top of free drinks, participate in the first-ever Mobile OS Dance Battle. That’s right, you read that correctly. A mobile dance battle. Are you ready? ROE, 651 Howard St., S.F. Click here for more info

Thursday, March 8

Kickstarter party, 8 p.m.–12 a.m. Game showcases, big-name DJs (like Tim Sweeny), and food from San Francisco’s very own Grilled Cheez Guy are all on the agenda. Tickets are sold out, but if you still want to go, you might be able to score a $20 ticket at the door—or you can volunteer to help from 10 p.m.–12 a.m. and, then party free of charge. Public Works, 161 Erie St., S.F.
